What sort of training is it?
This course enables participants to reflect on their own experience, to recognise the indicators of compassion fatigue, moral injury and secondary trauma, to understand what helps in preventing, managing and recovering from these secondary stress issues, and to celebrate the reality that whenever we recover we become more resilient than we were before.
What will I learn?
- This face to face training is designed around the principles of promoting staff wellbeing.
- Participants will benefit from content around attachment, trauma and resilience as well as have opportunities to reflect on their experiences and those of colleagues.
- Participants will explore case studies of practitioners impacted upon by secondary traumatic stress and spend time working in groups creating an action plan for recovery.
- Participants also receive resources to use in their day to day work and to share with colleagues.
