Who is this training for?

Classroom teachers between Reception and Year 7.

What is it?

Teachers of year R to year 7 will prepare engaging lessons that enable students to explore what emotions are and how the brain supports wellbeing and resilience through nature, experience and connection with others. Each teacher will leave with 5 lesson plans and resources tailored to their year group.

The course aims to help children identify a range of emotions and describe how they arise in the brain and body, explaining the meaning of wellbeing and resilience in everyday life.

The course gives you simple strategies for emotional regulation, gaining information by natural experiences and social connection. Emotional Me is applied learning through hands-on activities and reflection to strengthen self-awareness and self-management

What will I learn?

  • How to help children identify a range of emotions and describe how they arise in the brain and body.
  • How to explain the meaning of wellbeing and resilience in everyday life.
  • Simple strategies for emotional regulation informed by natural experiences and social connection.
  • Applied learning through hands-on activities and reflection to strengthen self-awareness and self-management.
  • The neuroscience behind digital harm and its relationship to trauma and resilience.
  • How digital culture can both undermine and support emotional wellbeing in children.
